Romance in Singapore

The bustling streets of Singapore may not seem like the ideal place for romance initially, but scratch below the surface and you'll discover plenty of quiet corners where you and your loved one can enjoy some memorable moments.

Heading to some of the many public gardens and parks is a must, with the Botanical Gardens being one of the most picturesque spots. To get an overview of Singapore's skyline, ride the Singapore Flyer - the world's largest giant observation wheel. Sunset is a wonderful time to enjoy the view from the glass pods, but seeing the entire city spread out beneath you will be impressive regardless of the time of day.

Visiting the Esplanade theatre in Marina Bay for a show is another great way for couples to spend time together. The venue often hosts performances by the Singapore Symphony Orchestra, so it's a good idea to find out what will be happening during your stay.

Wining and dining

One of the best ways to enjoy quality time together on a couples holiday is to eat out at fantastic restaurants and Singapore certainly delivers on this front. As the city is a hub of multiculturalism, there is something for everyone on offer in its eateries.

Flavours from India, China and Malaysia are the mainstays, but you'll also find Italian, French and Japanese meals on the menu in some of the city's top restaurants. The area around the riverside is home to numerous establishments with fantastic waterfront locations, while the streets of Chinatown and Little India are bustling with food stalls where you can pick up delicious snacks.

There are a number of signature Singapore dishes that you can try during a holiday here, including Rojak, which is a type of salad, fish dish Otak Otak, and Kaya Toast, which is popular at breakfast time. Of course, no trip to Singapore would be complete without sipping on a Singapore Sling. This gin-based cocktail was invented in Raffles Hotel and you can still enjoy the authentic concoction here to this day - not to mention in many other bars around the city.

Make Singapore part of your honeymoon
